So I know that there are quite a few threads on the subject of hid lighting on this forum but they are all mainly geared towards the later model VFRs that have dual headlights and separate Hi/Lo bulbs. So Im thinking of doing a HID conversion On my Second gen and just have a few questions for anyone who might have answers.
First: The second gens have a single bulb that has 2 elements, one high beam one low beam. What Ive read so far it sounds like with most HID kits, especially the less expensive ones you only get low beam functionality. So what do I do about HI/LO beams?

Second: .....I cant think of a second question so I'll leave it at that.

Im looking at Xentec HIDs, people seem to talk higly about them and they're quite inexpensive, less than $100 for a 2 bulb setup. Any other recommendations are welcome.

You can get a HID/xeon setup single bulb high and low. It is HID low beam and halogenT high beam. Or a bi zenon kit h4 kit shoudl be fine

I have a 8k HID kit in mine. Its only a single light (no high/low beam). I dont see why you would need to change the beam anyways.. Mine look great and i love them. Only paid $50 for them at DDM Tuning. Very quick install.

Heres a pic with the stock light, i have a 4" Dominator in there now so the beam is a bit diffrent but still nice.

I got a kit from a member on here (Fizz). It was just a low beam, but that is all I ever needed! It was such a great improvement over stock. As others have already said, if you do want true hi/lo beams you can get the bulb that does both (and is more expensive).

Just try to stay in the 4500K to 8000K range anything higher and you dont see shit. 4500k will give you the most usable light.

The lower the color temp the better, especially if you ride in rain or get caught by fog. It really DOES make a difference. Very noticeable going between my halogen and HID cars.

I'd love to find a bi-xenon projector to tuck behind the lens... The kind with the integral shutter mechanism to provide the hi/lo transition.

I hate the horizontal cutoff as I ride on some pretty tightly twisting roads, where when leaned over, you can't see forward at all due to the combination of lean and cutoff... Unless you kick the brights on, but then you still can't see great...
