Hi to every one on this forum. I have been reading this forum for awhile and I think it is a great bunch of people and I am happy I found it. I just started tearing down a 85 VF500 F I got for $150 a few years ago. Now that I am on to this project there is some advice I need and I want to replace some parts. Has anyone put the Accel coils on theirs? If yes, what model coil? Until I change out the coils any recommendations on a new set of wires to go with the stock coils? I am missing 2 and the other 2 have holes almost worn through the insulation. I have already checked the compression and all 4 are good. The bike only has 17000 miles. In the future I would like to replace the top front fairing but that can wait till I find one I am happy with.
    Thanks to all

Hello neighbor. Welcome, You'll find some good information here and very helpful people. Good luck with your project. If you have captain and coke, I can come over and help turn a wrench, hehe.

Great thanks for the information. I am going to assume I should stay away from the graphite core wires and stick with the copper core. Are the stainless steel core wires also ok to use with the CDI?

From everything I have read and from personal experience copper core is the best option though I would check with the specific coil manufacturer before making a final decision.
