    Hi everybody, my name is Stoney, I live in Prince George, B.C. Still LOTS of snow up here and the streets are still covered in sand, so I am having to content myself with sitting on my '86 and listening to her purr. I have been tinkering for about five years now and managed to flash her up last fall. She was my brothers bike for a long time, he bought it from some guy who attempted to race it so it was beat up but ran really well. My brother is an engineer and he rebuilt her down to the last nut, bolt and washer and got her running BEAUTIFULLY. My bro is an extremely large dude (260+ lbs), so he really is too big for a 750. He rode her HARD but took extremely good care of her. The front rotors are pretty chewed up from stopping all that weight, and I am still trying to clean the brake dust off the front wheel. The rear brake looks like it did the day it left the factory. She has about 60,000 km on her, I scored a pretty nice set of fairing lowers last year (probably the last set on the planet). I will put plates on it pretty soon and start riding while i sort out a couple of bugs. I am having a couple of intermittent electrical glitches I am looking for some advice on, but I will do a separate post for that. I am planning to overhaul the hydraulics on her.

    When I was in high school, I lusted for a VFR, it was all I could think about most of the time. I still have a dog-eared copy of the June '86 Cycle World with a feature article about the VFR. I probably read that article a hundred times, dreaming, longing, desiring.. My first bike was a '79 CB 400 that I built out of two basket cases, and rode hard for many years. My bro took over it when I got an '84 V45 Magna, I still have the CB and it will be my next project bike. I didn't really like the Magna that much, it was no good for any kind of distance and I found its handling to be a bit dodgy. I also didn't enjoy working on it very much, it was packaged very tight and it was hard to get at the carbs. I sold it about fifteen years ago and have not had a bike until I got the VFR.

    260 LBS? Hell I am not far off that mark, & I think I fit My VF750 pretty well. ( 6ft. @ 245 LBS ) :tongue:
