Hi- How high will she go?

Thought i'd introduce myself- Rob from Dublin here, bought a fi vfr 800 last night to use as an everyday commuter and all weather bike! Gonna see how high i can get the mileage on her as an experiment alongside regular servicing and maintenance- currently has 36k miles on the clock! Whats the highest mileage heard of on the pre vtecs? Nice forum!!:wink:

 

100,000 miles

I have an 86 vfr700F2 that has 64,000 miles on her...although I just changes the guages out and now it reads 23000..... does that mean my mileage went away?

Yep, I know of several VFR owners who have exceeded 100,000 miles. Some on VTECs and some not. With regular maintenance you should see the 100k mark.

 

According to this story, 852k miles on a 1990 VFR. 440k on the first engine and 412k on the second. The guy is a dispatch rider in England.

in the Tiger, Tiger post I put something there about a person on a goldwing hitting the 514K mark - same engine.
