Hey guys. 35 year rider here. Been riding cruisers for the past 20 years. Looking at commuters and better handling bikes. Was going for the FJR but realized I would not be doing cross country trips anymore, instead mostly local riding. The VFR seems to represent the best of all worlds. I have been lurking here for a long while (looking mostly for a bike on classifieds) My short list is currently VFR SV650 VStrom FZ6 Kawi 650 Would love a DUC or Aprilla but no servoce centers close and the only tools I have for mechanical work is a $15 socket set from Wal Mart. I don't wrench. I rode Honda Shadows 1100's for 20 years. No tools needed. Any way looking forward to learning and maybe I will find a nice used VFR close to me.

Welcome, I think you made the right choice. I was also looking for an FJR or ST when I found my VFR. I think for mainly around town and some fun weekend trips the VFR is perfect.
