Hi everyone just joined the forum today. I am from Canberra in Australia and have been riding my 98 VFR800 for a couple of years and love it. I was actually looking for new mirrors, I don't like the rubber sleeve and was wondering if there was any aftermarket mirrors for the VFR. Any way good to be here. See you round

    Welcome to our forum!

I've been to Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth. In January of 2004, I drove all over Tasmania and took a beautiful picture of the sun setting over the Gordon river. There's a lot that I haven't seen in Oz though. Perhaps sometime I'll visit Queensland and see the crocks. The tour over the top of the Sydney Harbour bridge was worthwhile.

I have a 2006 VFR, with stock mirrors. They seem just fine for me.

    Hi there

Thats great, I have visited the USA. Drove a mustang from San-Francisco to Los-Angeles along the coastal rode which was great fun. Also spent a couple of weeks in New Orleans just hanging out on Bourbon street. Never rode a bike there though which I would love to do.

As far as the mirrors go, the rubber sleeve keeps riding up off the fairing making it look cheap. Yeah no one else probably notices but it is right in front of my face. Ha ha anyway the rest of the bike is awesome, way better than the Ninja that I use to have.

    Kind regards, Alexi

    Hi Alexi,
    Welcome to VFR World.
Canberra and 98 VFR's are a popular combination!
I live in "south Goulburn" and ride a red (is there any other fast colour?) 98 myself.
I know exatly what you mean about the "condom" mirrors and as KC-10 FE says, the '00 and '01 mirrors don't have the rubber boot and bolt straight on.
Trouble is finding some - they are approx $200 each new and are quite rare in the wreckers as any that survive a "sideways turn" are quickly snapped up by '98 and '99 VFR riders.
Best of luck in finding some.
Anyone know if other model Hondas might also fit?

Yeah I love Oz and especially love riding in Canberra and up in the Gold Coast. Thanks for the warm welcome and I will see you all on the forum.

Wow. I am from Australia, and I live in America, and I never got this kind of welcome....what gives?

Anyway Alexi.....welcome. Good to see peeps from my side of the pond joining the forums. Lots to be learned here.

I have the condom mirrors on my 96. Yes they look cheap.

Just always do what RVFR does. Seems to work for me.

    Later mate.

What does RVFR do. powderrecon? Or do you mean KC-10? You can tell I'm bored this morning...

Hi, Aussie guys. I took a quick peak through the normal supply places I am accustomed to using, and there doesn't seem to be any aftermarket mirrors for the 98-01, although I'm sure you know far more about it than I do. I'll keep my eyes open for some 00-01's on my local Craigslist. Welcome!

PS We had a big welcoming party for you, powerrecon, but you never showed! Too bad; all the dancing girls were asking for you...
