Another newbie here, me- Sergiu from Romania (that is in Europe - for the americans), I do not own a vfr yet... I am trying to make my mind up 5th or 6th generation? And I am waiting for the cash to come in... untill then I am studying here to figure things out... I introduce myself here, so I would not start another thread.

    Cheers!

Welcome Serg, first off do you have a budget ? second look at both---checking maintenance---ever been dropped--- extras on the bike and of course mileage---- take your time and don't jump right away and anything you see. ALWAYS bring an experienced motorcyclist with you checking out the bikes---always good to have two sets of eyes-Good luck

Thanks mate! I do not want to spend too much over 3000 euros, and I saw on a forum in Ro few bikes that are around 3000 and swing from 2002 -2004 having from 28000km - 50000km with and without cases. I understood that the suspension of the 5th gen is softer and the frame of the 6th is improved. My concern would be the engine... gear driven distribution or chain? V tech vs non v tech... Is realy v tech so helpful on the gas mileage?

I get 200 miles to a tank on my 2002--- the vtec is awesome and I'm sure that when I get the PCV it Will be even more awesomer (I know, my word) . Don't really have anything to compair non-vtec to mine. I'm sure you will get more people to chime in like Tinker with allot more experience with motors and different years.
