    Hey guys,

Did my searching of both manuals and a search here on the forum and there wasn't any good info on an install for my bike. I just got a new center stand recently and after the wreck I am getting the swingarm replaced after swapping out the bent up sub frame.
I figured while I am doing this I could slap the center stand on before swapping out the swingarm to keep me from having to strap the subframe to the ceiling.

Any help or tips or pointers or outright step by step explanations would be greatly appreciated to make this easier.

    Thanks,

Well I'm going to try to help but this is my experience installing a center stand on a wrecked bike (85 vf700)

Beneath my bike between the 2 muffler outlets on the collector is the spot to mount the stand. It has 2 pinch mount rings, one on each side that the pivot rod thing for the stand goes. It was impossible to do without removing the collector but Luckily/unluckily for me the left side pinch ring was bent to all shit, so I was able to pit it in place an bend it back. Put the bolts in the pinch mounts and i was done.

If this doesn't help you at all, a least I tried. Sorry in advance.

Fahghetaboutit. I put it on looking at the parts fische. The toughest part was getting that damn spring on but once I put a few pennies in the gaps when I stretched it out, it made it easier to put on. That plastic sleeve didn't help any though, and the fact that I forgot to put a little grease on the pivot pipe so I had to disassemble it and put it back together again was fun. Oh, and I had to cut the old pivot pipe off because it was bent to shit and refused to come off, so sawzall to the rescue!!

    Not too bad though.

son of a bitch I can't remember if I greased mine now. This is going to bother the hell out of me.

And I can't get that bastard off unless I drop the collector
