Need advice from all you vfr owners who've owned sportsbikes. I'm thinking of trading my 06 suzuki gsxr 750 for an 05 vfr 800. I enjoy long rides like 800-1000 km days. Riding the zook for that long can be painful. Are the vfr's really that much more comfy? How's the realibility of an 05 besides the obvious R/R problems? Thanks again hope you guys can help me out with making the right choice!

    Hi 05vfrj,

I had a Kawi ZX12R and went to the VFR with no regrets. The VFR is much more comfortable than any other sportbike I have ever been on, so you won't go wrong there. You do 800-1000km days? By my figuring thats over 600 miles a day! My thoughts are that if you can survive that on a Gixxer, the VFR will feel like a Lay-z-boy. Sounds like your mileage puts you in Gold Wing territory, but if sportbikes are your thing, the VFR is the only way to fly!

    Good Luck!

Chilliwack BC- Castadero Ca :reg:- Victorville Ca- Chiiliwack BC in 9 days. 3240 miles. I had a sore butt but otherwise it was good. And I have real back issues. Make the trade. You won't regret it.

raced a 750 gixxer but as far as rides on it, 30 min tops on that thing unless over 100mph.
I have 02 w/ around 17,000 miles and no problems at all w/ it.
All I can say is go for it, you will not regret it.

I agree pretty much on the comfort of the VFR. Ideally you would hold on to the 750 AND get a VFR. I say that because I am trying to add a second bike to the stable. For me the VFR isn't quite sporty enough so I am planning on a Triumph Daytona 675. The GSXR 750 was another bike I auditioned. The viffer isn't slow but before you get rid of it make sure you won't miss the zing of your zook.

Or is it the bing from your book? I get confused...

Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to test ride the vfr and hopefully go for a long one. I'll keep the gsxr but the wife wouldn't agree to that so i can only have one. I got hooked riding sr20 in Washington state and back up to Canada through Osoyoos BC and it's an all day ride! Thanks again!

    Hi From Mexico¡
I had a 750 GSXR K6, enjoyed six months but later some M FKR Stole it, later I get a CBR600RR 2007 and I´m happy with it, I bought a 2000 VFR800fi, and have 2 bikes at home. I think is the best you can do, If you can try to get an ancient VFR model I suggest 98-2000 model because is super comfortable to travel, smooth ride and trustable, and can have the sport behavior of the Suzy. saludos¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
