So i replaced my old starter clutch with a new one and after i put everything back together and put new oil in i went to start it and it wouldn't turn over. Back wheel doesn't move in gear even when i try to bump start it.

have you tried removing the small access cover and turning the crank with a socket ? maybe time to remove clutch cover for inspection, but not much is likely to go wrong when replacing a starter clutch (if it's the right one for the bike). make sure the short tube that supports the s.c. hasn't fallen out of place, and be sure the thick washer on the shaft is in place.

BTW, if you lean the bike against something solid on the port side, no need to drain oil.

I checked and everything is in place, its really hard to turn over with a ratchet. If jump the bike it turns over once and really struggles.

I wedged a rag in-between the gears to keep it from spinning could that have bent or broken anything?

Too much oil? I know it sounds obvious but I’ve seen great mechanics miss basic stuff at the end of a long day.

Do you think too much oil would cause it to not turn over at all?

remove all the sparkplugs and try again, maybe fuel flooded into a cylinder and hydrolocked.
