Hello VFRworld! I currently ride a 1982 Honda GL500 Interstate, mostly commuting the 60 mile round trip to work and back. Bike as almost 85,000 miles. Purchased the Silverwing in April 2003 with 48,000 miles on the clock with the intent of hitting the 100,000 mile mark, so I am doing some research for my next bike. Looks like this forum will real helpfull in my search. Besides the VFR 800FI, I am looking at the new BMW F800ST, the Honda ST1300. Any suggestions, thoughts, comments, experiences, and wisdom greatly appreciated.

    Ride when you can!

they are all good bikes. as previously stated, get the vfr. we are biased, though. it should depend on your ride style. if you can have only one, then I think it'll probably be your best compromise. I hate to use the word compromise because it makes it seem like you get less, but actually you get more. just browse around here, magazines, etc and I think you'll see why we like them so much.

Hi Wing and welcome. Like reg said, we are biased. I can't speak for the BMW or the ST1300, but my VFR is a bike that has proven it's reliability and versatility. A number of member have hard bags (and of course there are those who don't) on their bikes and use them regularly. In either case some go on long trips with no problems. The VFR is a well rounded, versatile machine. Go for the VFR.
