Hello Friends! I have a -99 VFR800Fi,live in Sweden and love the bike:smile: . Thanks for the best site about VFR I've seen! The bikes power output is rdeuced to 98 hp, probably to get cheeper insurance, but it is going like hell! Best of all,it has a catalysator in the exhust! Cheers, Classe Wanselius, Enköping(near Stockholm),Sweden
Welcome from Cali, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. what is a catalysator? I think the 98 only makes 97.8 HP at 10250 RPM in stock trim acc to www.motorcycle.com They still have their review on the bike posted (along with many others)
Hi Class. Welcome to our group and thanks for adding to our membership. We are happy to have you hear as it just adds tothe diversity of our group and to the forums. Is a catlysator a catalytic convertor? I have never heard that term before. Again, welcome and thank you for the complimets on the site. We are working to make it grow.
Wow we've gone world wide, have you pinned yourself on the member map? Good to see another VFR owner no matter where they're at.
Hi,sorry i did'nt had time to answer until now. A ''catalysator'' in swedish is a cathalythic convertor with ''lambdasensor'' in the exhaust,i think you call it an oxygensensor,am i right?Very good, practically no emissions. Here in Sweden the -99 VFR800Fi had 106hp(78kw) but Honda Sweden re-programmed the fuel injection and put restrictions in the exhaust system to only deliver 98hp(72kw) to get cheaper insurance cost i think. It is notated in the registrations paper.
