I just wanted to say hello, looks like a great foruim here with tons of details and information about the much loved VFR!

I have been riding since 1985 and have close to 55,000 miles under my belt, and that has been on only 2 bikes. My 1st bike bought used was a '73 Honda CB350/4, what a great little starter. I was just flat out lucky to get ahold of the special 350/4 as the 350 which was only a 2-cylinder was a much more popular bike. And I can still recall, winding that little 4-cylinder all the way up to its 13,000 redline. From the CB350/4 I bought another used bike about 5-years later, this time an '85 CB650SC, or Nighthawk 650. I got the Nighthawk with 5,000 miles on it, now it is up over 50k and looks basically brand new.

So, why have I joined up here? I have wanted a VFR for a very, very long time. Well I have fianlly decided, come Winter '08/Spring '09 I will begin an intence search for a new-to-me bike, I have my heart set on a '99 to '01 5th Gen VFR in red or yellow.

The idea behind my name V_to.the.fifth
V4 as in one of the most awesome engine notes
Another V to bring it up to 5, as in 5th Generation of VFR

    My other rides include:
    1990 HONDA CRX-Si
    2002 HONDA S2000
    2005 NISSAN Titan

Yes, the yellows are THE most sought after VFR EVER!!!!!!
OK, not really. But I have decided to make them the cult VFR.
Like Rocky Horror Picture Show or the VW Bug.
Welcome. And please ignore the whining you may see, it is only temporary.

Welcome! Your experience and perspective will be a good addition to this Forum. Good luck with the search. Even now, your future bike is waiting out there...just eliminate all the ones that are not yours and it will present itself at the right time.
    Ah, GOOD KARMA!

    Many thanks!

I hear ya, I have almost always bought my cars and trucks used, and I have learned to listen to my "gut". You are so right, my bike is indeed out there! I have dreamed about a VFR upgrade for the past some 10-years. I will admit though, when I bought the S2000 my bike time took a huge decline, now that the S has 50k miles on it and I would like to keep them down, getting a new-to-me ride seems like the way to go.

    Hey! Welcome to the board!

I used to have a 1990 Honda CRX Si as well. I miss that car more than any other ride I've ever had.

I'm also up in the Northeast, but across the lake from you in NW Vermont.

Once you get the Viffer - let me know, and we can head out for a ride.

Oh man, I love my Rex, some of the S2000 guys just can't understand why I keep it. :roflmao: Of course not only is it a blast to drive, but the 36 to 41 mpg ain't hard to deal with.

Nice area you live in. My Nighhawk got most of its miles buzzing the Adirondacks.
