Bob: Ok, now we have a newcomer here to the forum, let's give him a warm welcome!

opus: Hello, my name is opus, and... And... I'm addicted to riding. *Breaks down into uncontrolled sobbing*

Audience: Who let this guy in?

Hehe. Ok, seriously, I'm opus and I wanted to say hello. I can't believe I haven't found this website before now. I had a 2004 VFR back in 2005 and I don't think I ever ran across this site. Weird.

Anyway, I now have a 1995 VFR that I like to refer to as "Prison pretty." As in, she's pretty beat up, but if you were in prison she'd look like a supermodel by comparison. I picked her up a couple months ago for two grand thinking I could get her on the road for cheap. Well, yes and no. Oh, and I don't think there's one good body panel on her. The only decent piece on the bike is the fuel tank. hehe.

    So far I've done:

Cobbled together the missing body panels off ebay
    New Pilot Road 2's
    New front springs and oil
Rebuilt 929 shock with custom shock mount bracket thingy
Flushed brake fluid, clutch fluid and antifreeze
    Changed oil and filter
    New rear brake pads
    New battery
    K&N air filter
About to replace the R/R with an R1 R/R because I just found out mine is dead

I'll write more later, but here's a before and that's-all-I'm-doing-for-now-dammit-after shot.

    After (for now):

And one of my dearly departed 2004:

And one of me. I'm much fatter in person, don't be fooled. It's a good angle.

    Great site!

Oh, and does anyone know what the stock spring rate on a 929 shock is? Racetech says 15.3-ish, but it turns out mine is actually 13.3. Not cool. Gotta get a new spring and hope the stock valving can keep up.

    Heya,

I'm located in Vancouver, WA, right next to Portland, OR.

I've pretty much got everything I need, just waiting for the R1 R/R to come in. Got my new voltmeter in the mail yesterday so that will help with monitoring.

    Welcome.

The first step to solving any problem is admitting you have one.

You happen to be in a pretty good area for VFR owners. Several on this site live around there. Welcome aboard.
