Hello from Walking Dead country. I am a 25yr old flight instructor in Senoia, GA. I am new to membership to the forum but not to looking around. I am days away from buying an 07' RWB non-abs in Fort Lauderdale, Fl and would like advice on buying a bike site unseen. I know it is the bike I want. I've loved it since it was new and now my wife is getting me an early Birthday and Christmas present. I found one for what I think is a good deal with 3k miles on it and I have it under contract. I want to make sure I'm not getting into too much trouble. Any advice on what to look for and what to watch for?

From 22 pics it looks to be in great shape and I ran the vin and it came up as a clean title and its at a dealership.
original owner traded it in on a VFR1200 so I know he probably took care of the bike and never rode it...

what say you VFR world?

I bought a pearl white '06 with 3k on it and it was a great inverstment. I have put 18k on it since and Love it. I would suggest trying to get someone to go check the bike out in person. maybe call a local cycle shop and ask if you could pay them to check it out for you. Other then that you are just taking a chance buying anything sight unseen.

 

Yeah that is what I am trying to figure out. I think that is the best thing to do, and am going to find a Honda mech to go look it over for me.

 

3K miles on an 07. There have not been enough miles on that puppy to do much damage as far as I know. But site unseen is risky.

I would go check on it for you myself if you pay my expenses. It is only 6806 miles return. I would be able to stop in and see TInk too. Maybe someone from nearby might read this thread and offer up to check it out for you.

 

LOL thanks Randy! i'll have owned the bike for an hour and paid 2x what i think its worth to get it! Yeah I'm hoping that someone Local will see this and mention their willingness to go over and kick the tires... It is from a dealer and I have run the vin and seen 22 pictures and am relatively certain that the bike is a cherry trade in but I wanna be sure. I may just call down to a local Honda dealer and see if they have a wrench that will travel.
