Hi all my names Iain Screen name Tenko I live in Dundee Scotland and have been biking for 25 years.
My bike history is Honda CBR400,Kawasaki GPZ600R,Moto Guzzi 1000S. Honda 98 VFR800fiw 5th gen which was written off due to a dude running into me.My current bike is a 01 Vfr FI1 5th gen with 62,000 miles on the clock and my summer play thing is a Kawasaki ZX600R ninja for when it is dry and that is not often.
I do a lot of rallies year round and have been going to Germany for the last 10 years for the V=Strom rally and a bit of touring and would like to do more touring but but my good lady hates bikes so it makes it difficult. And thats about it folks, looking forward to nosing round your site.

Make yourself at home sir. I hope you find the site of some use.

Hi Iain and welcome to the MadHouse. The forum is fairly laid back so if you have questions and the search option does not help - then post away. We all start sometime and I guess with your riding history you have plenty of knowledge to share. It sounds like you have encountered many of the joys and challenges which owning a 5th Gen brings.

One important thing to consider with older VFR's is long term parts availability. Routine service parts are generally fine but many other parts for the 750 and smaller VFR models are getting very hard and expensive to find, hence quite a lot of owners are choosing to buy a parts bike to keep their pride and joy running.

    Take care

Welcome to the site. Scottish roots here but am well entrenched in Canada two generations ago. If you have issues with your bike, let me know. I know a whole lot of nothing about everything with these bikes but I can share comfort ideas over a nice single malt to settle your anguish down.

    Ride on laddie.

    Welcome tenko!

And happy to see you call your lady a good one even though she no be likey the motos.

I try to do rallies here during the holidays...mostly toy runs. Maybe those aren't considered rallies...
But it made me wonder, do you have toy runs in your necker of the woods?

Hope you can find some time to get some touring in...and post photos! You live in an amazing area!

Photos? Have you posted some I may have missed?
