Well, after 25 years sans bike, my wishes have finally come true! My only previous bike was an '87 600 Hurricane. Black with red stripes. We just became proud owners of a '98 Viffer 800 and couldn't be happier! She was on the high km side (99,320), but after some initial checks on her, it was apparent she was very well maintained. To the garage it went, for a strip down, inspection, wash and wax. The pic is prior to that but not as shiny! Other than a few mods to suit my 46 year old ass, perhaps a new seat and some bar risers, peg lowering kit, blah blah blah, we're gonna put some serious time on her this summer (whenever summer decides to play nice).

Hi and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:

Top marks for adding a photo with your first post , and for choosing a red VFR - which you will find are definitely the fastest colour :potstir:.

You may want to update your forum profile "My Profile" link at the very top of the page to include the specs of your bike and a rough location city/state is fine. That way the information will appear beside all your posts and if you need help - you may find someone nearby is willing to swing by and offer advice and assistance - especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge :drink:.

    Take care

Welcome to our house of perfect sanity and culture. You will learn that even though the mileage is high, it still has lots to give. Is that miles of KM? I thin Derstuka down in San Diego has more on his filth gen and it is still going strong. At least I think his is a fifth. And I have 179K + km on my 6th gen. Only problem with it is staying right side up. It serves my 58 year old bones very well without the foot peg and bar rider mods you are intending. I have the heli risers, just haven't gotten around to putting them on. Every time I go out to the garage to start that project, I end up going for a ride instead.
