    Hi all,

New owner checking in. I just got her and so far I am loving it. Here is a picture.

A question for you guys. Does anyone have a service manual for the 2012 model. I seem to be able to find the 10 model but can't seem to locate the 12 manual. Any help would be appreciated. also, did you guys get a toolkit with the 12 model? All I got is some wire for the helmet lock.

I am looking forward to this bike and also to participate in the forum.

    Thanks,
    John

Welcome to the madness, and good job on posting a pic right out the gate. Even though I'm not a big fan of the looks of this model, I have to admit it looks pretty darn good in blue. Dare say it might even be growing on me? Anyways, welcome!

Welcome to the rubber room. Did you buy that brand new? If so, an owner's manual should have come with the bike. Maybe under the seat somewhere. If not, I would ride on down to the dealer and say WTF? Spending the kind of money one does for these rides should ensure we get what I believe is a criticle piece of reference material.

There isn't any such thing as a final question. My 2010 didn't have the tool kit, for whatever reason it seems those tool kits always go missing. Enjoy your vfr, I've put 15k on mine since buying her with 600 miles on the clock.

    Congrats on the new ride.
No Tool Kit on mine either.
Moved the one over from my 04 minus the spanners.

Welcome aboard! I bought my 2010 new and no toolkit. I argued the point with the dealer since the parts fiche clearly shows one, but they insisted the bike didn't come with one. I finally gave up and assembled my own, since the factory toolkit is usually total crap anyway.

    Hi there

I just picked up my 2010 manual with 4000 miles on it. The 330 mile ride home was fabulous, apart from getting a bit of a sore backside.

I previously rode a Triumph Sprint ST 955 from learning to ride 8 years ago, so this is a bit of a step up for me. The VFR seems seriously fast, but I don't know whether that's because I haven't ridden anything particularly quick before.

Anyway, here's a pic. The previous owner seems to have had a love of stickers, as the topbox had one on and the fairings have had these awful VFR stickers put on. I am investigating whether I can get them off without damaging the paintwork. I think I would have rather had a red one, but that adds about £500-£750 to the resale price here in the UK. Paid £7250 for it which I think is fine since it has full luggage, centre stand, tall screen, heated grips and a power supply socket on it. It even has its tool kit!

Welcome aboard. Very nice bike. A little warmth from a hair dryer prior to trying to remove the stickers should do just fine.

Side note: In the future you should start a thread of your own, rather than piggybacking onto another. Keeps things much more organized here and helps keeps the threadjackings at bay.

    Good tip, thanks.

Noted re thread sorry: I did wonder about that, but then erred on the side of thinking it was neater staying in a previous new owner thread than having a new one just for me.
