I'm here to info on the early VFs, looking at buying a 85 VF750 with 29000K on it. I've of course heard about the Cam issues and just want to hear as many sides as possible.
hello. welcome to vfrworld. I happen to have just bought an 84 vf 500 myself. I'll be starting cleanup work on it this week. I'm pretty excited to get her cleaned up and on the road.
People seem pretty loyal to this bike. I'm nervous just because of what a friend told me to look out for. however, everyone seems to brighten up a bit when they hear I'm looking at a 85 vf 750. the bikes in mint shape as well, well the photos are anyway.
Hi. Welcome to the group. There should be plenty of info here to find here. I have no first hand knowledge of the cam issue, but I do know I fell in love with the first gen VF's when they came out. I thought they were awsome looking and i heard stories of smaller class VF's beating larger class bikes, like a VF500 beating another brands 750, etc. Don't know how true it was and it was a long time ago but it didn't make me like the bike any less, true or not.
