I'm bikeless...and hating it. my last bike was a 2004 ninja 636r, fast and fun but painful to ride on bumpy roads, not good for passengers.
    Before that, i've owned 3 hondas 83VF750F, 84 VF1000, and a 2001VFR800

I want a fast fun bike that's comfortable for two, looking at 7th gen VFR, Katana.. dated, no linked braking or V-tec, and everyone complains about it anyway, katana is not as sexy lookin but way cheaper.
I read a european magazine yesterday that said the tester would rather have a vfr than his ducatiST3s. that surprised me. The Triumph 955i is dated but has lots more power, and a bad gearbox...what's the right bike for me?

If you ride 2 up a lot, you may want something bigger than the VFR, but my wife and I ride 2 up frequently wihthout drama. I weigh about 195 and she weighs around 120... the bike hauls us without difficulty but her comfort level is only good for an hour or so between breaks.

Since you owned a VF1000F,a VFR800 and the 636R, would you be kind enough to tell me the pros and cons of each... how did they compare?

W.o.w. people talk bikes on this forum

I've tried other forums before, and people just talk stupid stuff that has nothing to do with the forum site.
Anyway....it's cool that you all are interested and take the time to show it....

I bought my 83 VF750F when i was 17 and figured it was the fastest thing on the ground. these days, the more I read, it seems the VFR is slipping backwards when it comes to Hp ratings and it's in need of a diet. Someone else wrote that many 600cc bikes have more power, my 2004 ZX636R had 110+ Hp. I like the looks of the vfr and the comfort enough that I might accept the other -'s. The 2006 in burgendy(red) is now my wallpaper, I love it that much. The ninja is the cat's ass when you're in the mood to pass everyone at dumb speeds..just because you can, and it's said to be great on the track. Why are we all buying bikes that were designed for the track, when most of us don't drive them there...why do they sell them. It's fun though...I'm gonna price the new bmw K1200S, It's top speed is 170.5 mph, and it looks really comfortable...maybe the answer is to have more money, so i can have an FJR1300 Yamaha, and a CBR1000RR Honda for those times when I wanna go crazy....alone...........cheers, Justin
