Hey Everyone! Just got my 2004 VFR last night. I really like the bike, I was going to get an RC-51 until my friend loaned me his for the weekend. They are great bikes but I’m 6’4 and it wasn’t a good fit. My VFR came with a Two Brothers exhaust, Heli bars and a BMC filter. This site has a lot of great information and I am looking forward to spending some time looking up answers to all the typical new-guy questions. Hope everyone has a good day. Action

welcome to the club. congrats on the bike. I'm sure you will be very happy together. The how-to articles are accessed from the VFR info button up at the top center. The search men for the forums is in the red bar above 7th option on my screen. Those are the first places I check, but quite often I just type a quick note out with my problem and usually within a day or two I get a few replies making suggestions.
I thought he rode a friends rc51 and it didnt fit so he got the VFR? either way, he has the right bike now. although I'd like to have an RC51 to play on, too.
You're right Reg, I rode a friends RC. It’s a great bike but after about 30 minutes my legs would start to feel cramped. I wanted something I could do long day or weekend trips on. I rode into work today, man what a great way to start the morning. Action
I got to spent about 150 miles on a new CBR1000RR - Holy Crap! The thing was a rocket and handled phonomenal. I just think about rolling threw the corner and whoosh - it's done! Twist the throttle, blink, and bam - a buck thirty on the speedo with no end in sight. One time at half throttle at 80mph, I cracked it WFO and the front wheel jumped skyward. WOW! While I would love to own one of these, it's still a narrow niche bike. After my very short ride, I was physically whipped. No way could I spent a week in the mountains on the thing or ride to Alabama or the other long day rides we like to do. So, while I was blown away, it was back to build a VFR to be the most capable long distance sport bike on the planet. Nothing anybody makes out there in cycleland is as all around competent as a VFR.
