Anyone has info. for the best deal of Heli-bars? Any suggestions for installation would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. 02 VFR 800
Is there anyone out there in Scotland who has a set of helibars fitted to a VFR800? I get sore wrists and pins and needles in my fingers after just a few miles. I fancy trying helibars but at the price would like to try them first. I am also thinking about buying a Sargent seat as I get a bit sore after 30 or 40 miles.
You may want to start a new thread. This one is pretty old and the title is not very descriptive to your need. Real quick though - if your wrist are getting sore that fast, you are most likely using bad posture. I mean no insult, but how long have you been riding? What did you ride before the VFR? While the VFR has a relatively upright seating position, there is still the forward lean that makes people want to hold themselves up with their arms and wrists. However, you should be using your abdominal muscles to hold yourself up and only lightly holding on to the grips. Not only will you save yourself from wrist-pump and tingly fingers, your steering should become more responsive. I have found that you will be able to feel the wind helping to hold you up as you ride. If you decide to ride aggressively, then you can lean forward a little more to get out of the wind.
Hi Married man. What are abdominal muscles? I am 65, slim but 6'2"" tall. Yes the faster you go the more lift you get from the wind. We have a 60 mile an hour speed limit over here on most of the interesting roads. I need to be doing about 60 plus to get any lift. I used to ride a Triumph Thunderbird about 40 years ago. I could ride all day and never get tired. Yes I was younger, but not any fitter. Sorry but it is the handle bar position and seat combination. Some folks say you should take some weight on you foot pegs. Sorry again but getting a more comfortable handle bar position seems a better idea. Try telling someone on a BMW GS that they should take the strain on their stomach! Thanks for the idea of starting a new thread. I will give it a couple of days, and if I do not get any replies I will take your advice and try agian.
