Are trying to do it without removing front fairing? Hard enough with it loose. especially lower connectors.

Seeing as you are in FL, you might have some slight corrosion on pins of the lamps, be prepared to crack glass base and replace.

There's no real trick to getting them off that I've ever found Skuzzlebut. Those little :censored:'s are just installed on there that tight.

I just keep wiggle waggle woggling them up and down and side to side while applying steady rearward pressure until they release. They're definitely knucklebusters. :frusty:

Hmm - this may not help much - as it sounds like you have indeed reached the "wiggle waggle woggling" stage but this shows the process for European 6th Gens.

I do recall seeing various posts on here which suggest that North American models have different bulbs - so I guess the removal process may be more problematic then the ones we have over here - where its simple - you just take a firm hold of the wiring plug and pull it straight back away from the rubber gaiter at the back of the headlamp...

I resorted to using a pair of screwdrivers to pry them off....PITA.

No, I can easily grab hold of the connectors with a firm grip by just turning the handlebars out of the way. I am pulling and twisting and rocking pretty darn hard but the bulb just keeps coming back with the connector. I called my local Honda dealer, they said it just pulls off and it's a bitch. They also said if I can't get it off bring it by and they will do it for me.

This may be just a guess but I'll throw it out there any way. On the 5th gen bikes the headlights use an H4 style bulb and I think the 6th gens use an H4 style bulb for the low beams and an H7 style for the highs. On my bike the H4 style connector has two tabs on either side of the connector that must be squeezed before you can pull the connector off. My Mazda uses H7 style bulbs for the low beams and has the same style connector and it too has two tabs on either side of the connector that must be squeezed while you are pulling off the connector. Not sure if this helps, but here's hoping.

Yes, thank you! I went back and tried it again. There IS 2 tabs you have to squeeze! You have to push your fingers deep into the base of the connector where it meets up with the back of the bulb, you can feel the 2 tabs. Pinch hard and they easily come off! Some people and even Honda told me they just pull straight off, but very hard to do. Now I know why it's so hard to do it that way, cause there's A CLIP ON BOTH SIDES! Thx again Zoom and I hope this helps others tackling the same problem.
