    Hey all,

First and foremost...Wow, what a great forum! Tons of info, lots of pictures, lots of shared stories of good times and bad, all in all a great example of a motorcycling community! Thanks for having me!

    A little about me.

My first VFR was a White 93. I didn't do a whole lot of mods to it, Yoshi pipe, windscreen and bar risers, frankly all i thought it needed! After about 8 years of riding with gsxr's, rc51's, tl100's i decided i wanted a similar but larger than a liter bike to my VFR. I found an ok deal on an FJR. At the time I was living in San Diego and flew to San Francisco on a Saturday night and rode it home on Sunday. I was really impressed at how well I was able to do that distance in a day. Meanwhile my buddy bought the VFR and was enjoying it immensly.

A few weeks later I took my first solo bagless ride to Palomar Mountain. I hit the first perfectly banked left handed hair pin and drove the left foot peg firmly into the ground and drug it all the way through the turn...I remember thinking to myself "What the heck did I buy?" Anyway over the next 5-6 years I learned to deal with it, hang way off and drive it like a bus!

A few years later I moved to the Central Valley of California and found it to hot, to cold, I just was not riding as much as I had in so cal. I sold the FRJ to the first guy who came and looked at.

A few years later I am at the local dealer in Fresno picking up some items for the Boss mans sea doos and am taking my time walking through the showroom and get approached by a salesman. I start talking to him about my likes/dislikes and low and behold he takes me over to a 2007 rwb interceptor.

I called them back asked what they could do for me on the bike and it seemed like a reasonable deal until I really went and looked at it. It had been droppped on the rh side and all they did was replace the decals.

Anyway, I make a cash offer to guy with a listing on another rwb, he took it, I drove to Nevada to get it.

After my first ride I realized that if I had ridden this bike a month after buying the fjr there is no way I would have kept the fjr.

Anyway, The helibars are on the new bike, It came with a Corbin, and I am looking at exhaust right now!

See you guys on the boards!

    Doug

Helllo Doug welcome to our little forum. I am glad you found the bike that you like. The VFR will keep you happy for many years to come as long as you take care of her. Hell Reg hardly ever take care of his bike and she is almost 100k miles
Make yourself like at home and ride safe.

Welcome here! I had an 07 RWB but loved it sold it to my neighbor, for reasons that follow, who also loves it. My wife "mentioned" after a one day 350 mile ride that "we need a comfy seat bike" and so enter the 09 ABS Goldwing, which I really like as well, though it is surely different! :bluesbros: I would not be content if I didn't have an 86 VFR700 that I am bringing back to life in the garage even though the winger is stunningly great at what it is designed to do. You will surely enjoy every minute of your VFRnicity. Now get out and ride!

Thanks for all the kind words!

I will throw up some pictures when I get it back together! I just ordered a Leo Vince from Kia001 and should have it before the end of the week. I am also replacing the center stand as the lever part you stand on seems bent down and in and seems to sit on both the left foot and the lever. I have been doing some research and found out about removing the backwards bolt on the rh side and having to remove the header pipe to get at said bolt, needless to say she will be down for about 10 days(give or take considering the kids homework work schedules etc!)

Here is the only picture I have taken thus far!
