I have a set of OEM hardbags and top bags with all the mounting hardware. I like the set, and it works for my wife and I, but I don't like the look of the top bag on there when I'm riding solo. I could have sworn that I saw a hardbag that mounted to the grip rails on the back, but that was positioned right above the passenger seat, and that had a seat rest for me, the driver.

Has anyone seen anything like this, or does anyone have one? If so, please post pictures and let me know where you got it! Thanks

    It's cold fastbag. Try E-bay.

Thanks, I hadn't seen the fastbag before. That looks like a good option, but I am looking for something that had metal brackets to bolt on where the grab rails normally bolt to.

On that "other" VFR forum (vfrd.com) there is a member called Kanadian Ken who sells a bracked that bolts on to the passenger grab rails. I've seen photos of top boxes mounted to his bracket, this keeps the box over the rear seat. Also the solo cover can still be used.

Not certain but I think he has both 5th and 6th gen brackets.

    Hope this helps,

you could always get a ventura rack(LINK). they allow you the option of mounting the soft bag on either the front, back or both front and back of the vertical rack. when i had a ventura rack, i had both front and back mounted bags and the front mounted bag provided me a much needed back rest.

i had the rack on my bike in AU. much more popular there. you don't see them so much here in the US. but i can't see why you wouldn't be able to get it.
