    Hi!

I bought a VFR about a month ago, a 2006 that had gone 18000km. In the past month it's been rolling another 2000 :)
Nice bike but as you might have noticed, I have a bit of an issue with getting the luggage racks on since the previous owner didn't provide all the bolts and nuts for it...

    Thanks!
As far as I have found you need to buy the entire rack which is some £200, rather steep for a couple of bolts :)

Welcome to the site. We kinda like pictures around here. It proves you actually have claimed bike.

There is nothing special about the bolts and nuts for you side bags for the bike. You should be able to get them at any decent hardware store. Let us know which ones you need and someone with the bags can go and measure the bolt you need. I know that some of the bolts used for attaching the side bags are actually longer than what came with the bike but still, easily available.

    Thanks,
As far as I've been able to understand atm I need the four 8mm long bolts that will screw down the top rack on top of the side racks which Pete measured for me as 8x35.
Then I need the four that screw the side holders to the rear bracket, 6x25? The two that screws the sub bracket to the rear, also 6x25 perhaps?
The third set I think I'm missing atm is the ones going through the rear plate holder with the light for the plate, which I not only have no idea of the size but can't for the life of me understand how I'm supposed to tighten considering the heat of the bolt is under a lid which can't be screwed down when the holder is attached to the bike...

I will also try to find some spacers to go between the top rack and the side racks, that seems to be hard to come by so I'll probably have to stack regular spacers there, sounds like a bunch of fun getting four screws in place through four separate stacks of spacers :D

Here's a photo of the bike from just before I bought it :)

I purchased my side bags used. They are OEM and I did get all the required parts with them. I was able to find the installation instructions for the racks. I can scan them and send them to you. Send me a private message with your email address and I will send them off to you. They have the bolt sizes listed on the instructions.

One thing I do remember is that fitting the bolts into the proper holes was a real challenge. I found that the only way I could get everything together was to only put the bolts in enough to line things up, then tighten them once they were all in place.
