I did a search but no clear answer.

As far as the GPS mount, I see 2 options the RAM mount or the Techmount.

The Techmount (part # 10994) will go in the hole for the steering stem.

For the RAM, I have no idea which one to get. It seems you need to buy
3 pieces. The base, the stem, and the mount for your GPS.
I found the stem and the mount for the GPS, but no clue as to which piece
is the one that attaches to the bike itself. Anyone knows?

Anyway, I'm leaning towards the Techmount. Looks nicer than the RAM.
Does anyone have pictures of their set up on a 4 gen bike please?
I did a search and found more pics on 5th and higher gen bikes.

Next question. I see a lot of comments on the mounts, but nothing on
powering the GPS. Is everyone relying on the GPS unit battery?
Is there a DIY on how to tap into the bike to power the GPS?

    Thanks in advance.

If you end up getting the RAM mount (which I did) you need 4 parts. First the base which atatches to the bike. I got the base that fits in the steering stem. Then you need the arm (they come in 3 different sizes if I remember.) Next is the flat piece with the ball on it. This piece mounts on the back of the cradle, for whatever GPS you have, which is the last part.

I found it quite confusing at first but am overall very happy with the product, and it wasn't that expensive either.

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the comment.
You said 4 pieces, but I only counted 3 above.
1- base that fits steering stem
    2- arm
    3- flat piece with ball
    Where is the 4th piece?

Anyway, do you have pictures of your set up?
How do you power your unit?

The 4th piece is the cradle which holds the GPS. On the back side of the cradle you attach the diamond looking piece with the ball on it.

Sorry, no pictures at the moment.

I'm running the unit on batteries until I get an outlet or whatever you call it for powering accessories.

Update: I ordered the techmount for the steering stem.
I also had to order an extra clip for the Magellan GPS. This is the piece
where the GPS clamps on and this piece has the screws to attach it to the
    techmount.
