I've seen threads on much newer bikes but I don't have a much newer bike.

    I want to put in a 12v outlet or a phone/GPS charger on my 86 VF500F.

I've used a certain weatherproof outlet from Wal-Mart all around my Jeep with a good deal of success in the past and figure that the mounting plate for the outlet itself is large enough to be glued to the inside of the front fairing. I could also splice the wiring with a hookup for my BatteryTender so I don't have to pull the battery cover off to get it hooked up.

As for mounting the GPS... the best thing I can think of is bolting the mount base to the fuse panel cover? I have a RAM mount in my Jeep, so I'd get the shortest base/neck combo that I could find...

Anyone have a 12v outlet and/or GPS mount on a similar bike? I'd love to see your pics.

    Thanks in advance.
