    I had a read out with a display like that ... very hard to read in the sunlight.

    I thought mine was too ... it wasn't.

    Hopefully, yours is better than the one I had was. Mine was crap in the end. Judging by the photo, it looks like it might suffer from the same 'washout' mine did in direct sunlight.

    The last one isn't much good it is only reading just over 11 volts

    Analog or LCD is the best way to go IMHO ... those digital # ones suck in direct light.

    Some LCD can suck in direct sunlight as well depending on screen.

    I ended up getting an analog meter and installing it on my '01. It also has a back light so when there's power applied to the leads, it'll light up. I have it setup on a relay so that the switched leg turns on the light as well as allows the meter to read voltage straight from the battery.

    I installed one just like that in the left side panel where that little round cutout is. Bought it from a boat store so its waterproof. Wired direct to accessory fuse block. Turns on with key. Accurate.
