Hello all. Just picked up a new 07 from a dealer on Saturday. Paid $9k otd with the extended warranty, not too bad. I had a CBR600RR a few years ago. I'm diggin the VFR so far, the vtec noise is taking some gettin used to though. I've always used forums to gather info on my vehicles and so far you guys seem pretty informative. I am searching, but can you guys point me in the right direction for any mods I should be doing asap? Thanks in advance.
HI, and welcome to the club, As another 07 owner, the only things I'd suggest is a starter valve setup, I got mine and it was way out. PM me and Illgive you the vacuum specs (easier than digging for them). The throttle cable on mine was way loose, so I had to adjust it. For your "Break in" i suggest riding like you stole it, dont be shy to break the 7K rpm level and use that VTEC! Change your oil at the first 100 miles ( some say sooner) to get rid of the small bits of metal that will be in there. and ignore the flapper valve noise at slow speeds, I have also taken the snorkle out of the airbox, the 1-2hp gain isnt worth it but the better sound is in my opinion. Someone is going to tell you that a Power Commander III and O2 deletes are a must, that Im still out on, as I have yet to need it. After wearing a set of rear pads out, i went to EBC HH pads, same price as OEM pads, but way better stopping. have fun and remember ATGATT! Zen
Picked my bike up on a Friday night and the wheels were white the following Monday afternoon. The Power Commander is a must if the throttle snatch drives you as crazy as it drove me. Those are two easy ones that really changed my bike more than anything else.
Thanks for the replies. Couple more ?'s... So no one seems to make a full exhaust that I can see, right? Only slip ons? Is that the catalytic converter under the center stand? Do people do custom pipes themselves and get rid of that? What is meant by o2 delete, and how is it done? Thanks again. I am loving this bike, more comfortable than my 600rr, but just as sexy. I could pull up a chair next to her, grab some beers, and just stare at it all day long...but it's more fun riding.
