GoPro Hero Wide

I just got a GoPro Hero Wide, and so far I like it a lot. It is simple to use though that also means it doesn't have all the bells and whistles someone really into video might want. But it is perfect for wanting to record the best parts of some of my favorite rides. I got mine at Sonic Raven.

A shot of the holder on the bike. It comes off without leaving a mark. I know, I tried :smile:

And another shot. I needed to cut off one of the hand screws and cut the screw down so that the camera would fit without hitting other parts of the fairing, hence the bare screw.


I haven't had a chance to play with it much, but here is a short piece of the video I created from my first run. It was into the sun, and I'm still new at the video thing, but it gives you some idea of what the wide lense does.

I like my Go Pro Hero, too. I mount it on the inside of the windscreen using the suction mount, with the camera looking over the top. I'm going to order the new one from the Pashnit site ($279.99 with free shipping). It's got everything the current version should have.

The suction cup is impressive. I was thinking of trying it out on the side facing forward and backward. I bought mine before I saw the new HD model, but this will give me plenty to play with for now, and if I really like it, then I'll just have to save for one, I'll look forward to seeing some videos from the new one when you get it.

 

I love mine too. Cant wait to start seeing video from the HD version.

I know...... i'm supposed to go to the track again tomorrow, but dont have anyone to go with me. I wont go there alone. ...... but now im seriously considering it. UHHHHH i so want to go!!!!

 

That definitely made me want to ride. I'm glad tomorrow will be a nice day around here.

I use Windows Movie Maker, its pretty basic, but you can get really good results with it. Besides, it was already on my computer:biggrin:

 

Yeah, GoPro is a great product. Here is a mountain biking clip of me rding down a mountain trail in Juneau, Alaska.

Yeah, you don't want to slide over the edge. People have died slipping off that stretch of trail. I never take unnecessary risks, though :biggrin:
