    Howdy,

A buddy of mine just put some Pirelli's on his VF1000R and loves them. I am not sure what sizes his bike has but I remember he has a 16" front rim. Try emailing Pirelli and see what they recommend. They were the only company that responed to his email inquiries. Good luck!

    Adios,

It's actually been about 6 years since I had to buy tires(Obviously,I haven't ridden much in that time), but the last set I bought were the Dunlop K591's. I chose these because I was riding the bike everyday at the time and wanted a little more mileage out of them. Prior to that I rode on the Dunlop Sportmax and prior to that were the Metzlers(I can't remember which model). I really did not like the Metzlers, but the Sportmax were like riding on rails. I know there has been some advancement in technology in the last 6 years, but you can look at what the tire manufacturers have replaced the above models with.

Try the new Dunlop GT 501 in the stock size. They are an improvement over the old k591 tires and are inexpensive to boot.

I,ve owned my vfr750fh since 1990 and covered over 100,000 miles on it. Consequently i've tried lots of tyres. At the moment i'm running Bridgestone BT45 in standard sizes of 110/80/16 and 130/80/18 and they're good enough to run in the front of the intermediate group on trackdays

I've had a lot of luck with Dunlop (love my 208ZRs!), and they're pretty much the only brand I'll buy. However, I recommended that my friend get some GT501s for his '98 seca II, and he's had nothing but problems with them. In his experience, they let go in wet, cold, medium braking, hard cornering... perhaps he got a set of lemons, but it's gotten to the point that he hardly leans the bike at all, now. He drives like a grandmother! They do seem to be adaquate for bone-dry weather, though.

BT45 front and rear, only I ran a 170/40 on the rear and found that it worked just fine

MY money is on Dunlop 208ZR's like Gooberdude! I have run the hell out of them and they stick like glue. Enough to wear down my pegs seriously (till I got my knee on the ground and started to wear sliders instead). I have never had a problem in the wet with them either. Also good for hard running on the track.
