Gold Brake Calipers

Hello All,

My plan is to go gold on gold as far as brake calipers and forks.

I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on a reasonable pair of Gold Brake Calipers for my 08 VFR 800.

Brembo is way too expensive. I have seen a decently price pair of NISSIN'S but they are for a CBR 600. Would this be an issue even after changing out the rotors ?

Tokiko has some for the 09 CBR 1000rr but I haven't seen these too often on any fully assembled CBR 1K's. Would any body know which CBR 1K model these would be on ?

What about hunt for the ABS caliper?

 

Would I have to do anything on my end as far as the ABS ?

 

Just swap out the caliper, the ABS is control by the sensor, ABS rings and computer so no work on your end. If you would try to convert a non ABS to ABS would be a tough. Good luck

 

Non ABS

That's my issue. My VFR is non-abs

 

Like 'Long says, gold calipers from ABS VFR would bolt right on. Thats if you retain the stock forks. If you do a front end swap then you'll have to get calipers appropriate for that set-up.

 

Ok so forgive my ignorance. Say I purhase the Nissin calipers that go with the ABS setup for my Non ABS setup and I bolt them on will I have to do anything else to have proper working brakes outside of bleeding the brake lines and ensuring I have brake fluid in the resevoir ?

 

Yep. Look up brake bleeding threads, its a process on LBS bikes.

 

Just get the calipers so I can Mount them on for you
Make sure bring a case of IPA
