I bought a Go Pro and want to see what you guys have for mounts. I don't want the camera on my helmet as I already have my Sena.....

I hope to start making vids soon once I determine the best spot on my VFR

    Thanks,

    Rob

Initially, I want a POV from the front... Not sure if I want to clamp onto a mirror or behind my windscreen

You could use the suction cup on the wind screen with a lanyard. I have used the suction cup on lower fairings of my CBR low as possible as not to hit the ground while leaned over. It never came off with speeds in the 160+ range. I did mount it too low one time and knocked it off while leaned over. Made some funny video as it flopped around on the lanyard. Scuffed the heck out of the housing.

I'm still figuring out the best mount and really haven't come up with one the suits me. This thread does pinch my ass to get to that as pretty soon I'll be looking at the options again, funny though what seems to look like it will work on the bike in the garage, doesn't fair so well once on the road unless you want to look like the Google map car.

I will second the suction cup mount as I have had it on all three of my bikes without any issues or fear it would fall off. If you're really worried, add a safety line to the camera case and secure it to one of the fairing bolts or other location on the bike. Other than the suction cup, Ram Mount has some really good mounting options that can be secured really well to the bike. I use the Ram Mount stuff for my phone and radar detector so expanding it to support the camera was an easy choice, however this cost of the Ram Mount stuff can add up quick! Finding it on Amazon seems to be the cheapest.

Here's the suction cup mounted on the 5 Gen.

Here are some pics of Ram Mounts that I have played with.

The Ram Mount gear is very good, I use it on the VFR bars for my GPS. And it can get a little pricey but it is well built. Got mine on Amazon too.

Good post and info. I'm still trying to fucking format the sd card. It looks like it won't work in XP.

In the mean time, I bought a "bag-o-mounts" on flea bay for $20

XP should be able to format the SD card. What size is the SD card?
