Givi PL166 Laser Plate

Hey Guys,

Does anyone else have a Givi PL166 mounted on their 6th Gen?

As you know, my bike was written off this past summer in a bad accident. I couldn't afford new racks so I found a set of used ones that I had powder coated cheap to look new again.

The problem is that it was missing the plate that goes behind the license plate (see attached photo)



I spoke with Givi directly, as well as their distributor here in Canada. They don't / won't sell just the plate - only the whole kit unless I can find a dealer with a damaged kit that they'd sell it out of. Silly considering that Givi manufactures them and I am willing to pay.

SOOOOO .... that leaves me with the option to manufacture one myself. If any of you have one, could you please shoot me all the important measurements, or even better yet, trace the outline and all the holes in it and mail me the paper? I'll pay the postage of course.

That's 100% BS! So if parts were to get damaged, they expect you to buy the whole kit every time? I would call back and make sure I spoke with someone different and see if they say the same thing. That is not customer service at all. If you cannot find anything, then order the whole kit from them, photocopy and/or trace the part and take pics, then return whole thing for refund. Then you will have all you need to fab your own. I sincerely hope that is not the customer service they provide for all their products as that is stupid.

 

I agree ... they make the damn the things but they can't sell that one part separately?

I'm waiting to hear from Givi in Italy.

 

I assume the givi are the same as the OEM Jeff? I can trace mine sometime this weekend and get it out to you. Friday is a bit of a busy day for me and I am also doing taxes. Fuck I should never have driven truck those couple months. That took an incredibly easy tax return and turned it into a complex nightmare. Maybe I won't claim that income.
