    Hi all,

I recently bought a 2011 VFR1200 with full Honda panniers but the top box is black.. not white like the side panniers.

My question is, does anyone know if it is possible to buy replacement genuine Honda colour-coded pannier ‘skins’? Either new or very good condition used.
I don’t even know if they are detachable, maybe they can’t be replaced?!
I would prefer not to have to get this black one sprayed if I can help it.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Kind regards
    Red

They are 'detachable' - just not without a little bit of pain.. In short, the pins need to be driven out. This is done by drilling a tiny 2mm hole on the inside end (in the centre) then pushing the pins out. You can then 'after painting' epoxy them back into position. Its worth repainting.

Ah, ok - so skins aren’t available and painting the top box is my only option then.

Thanks for the confirmation and tips for removal.. I’ll add this to the jobs list!
