So I picked up this salvage title 750 a couple weeks ago. The dude low sided it in 1997 and its been in dry storage ever since. Most plastic is there. The rear sub frame is toast, and it broke the lower right hand sub frame/foot peg mounting tabs off the frame. Here you see it with the cosmetics and broken crap removed with a possible replacement frame in front of it.

I'm thinking swap to the 87 frame. Is the 86 swingarm the same as the 87 F2?

    Thanks

I checked schematics on bikebandit, but they don't have a part # I can compare on the swingarm. Will check with the dealer tomorrow...

It is an easy repair and would recommend it above the DMV leg work to swap frames.

Luckily, you're in Sacramento, so just buy beer and sit back and watch TC go to work on your bike !

For future reference, Charmichael Honda reports that both the 86 and 87 swing arms have different part #s, but are superseded by the same part #...so I think its safe to assume the swing arm is the same on an F2.

One more RC24 (sort of) back on the road. (updated pics in 1st post)

I ironed out most of the mechanical bugs last weekend. It was a pleasant surprise to feel this healthy motor pull like a raped ape after 10 years in hibernation.

As it turns out, the transmission is tight, and its got great power. It did need a pulse sensor, and a thermostat. I noticed it has slightly bigger than stock mains during the carb cleaning. I think it really helps.

Good to hear another 24 is resurrected and running. Not sure on the swingarm lengths but I think the shock on an 87 is 0.5-1.0" longer if I am not mistaken.
If second gear is good you should have a solid tranny.
    Good luck with the bike.
