Has anyone wired an aftermarket gear position indicator to a 5th gen? What make was it and was it pretty easy? Come set up for a VFR? I frequently find myself crusing along in 4th or 5th, and I pull up on the lever (thinking I'm in 6th) and have one, sometimes 2 gears left. Probably because I've short geared my 5 speed ZRX, and that bike always feels like it needs another gear, even at 45mph. I mean it doesn't............ I've been to a GPS verified 152mph on the ZRX with 500rpm left, but it just feels that way. The VFR on the other hand, sounds fairly relaxed in 4th at 70 + MPH. Thanks in advance!

I have a 5th Gen VFR and you don't need a gear indicatior. There is a quick trick you can get used to by glancing at the needle on your analogue gauges to determine what gear your in. If your in 5th gear your rpm and mph needle will be pointing in the same direction (same angle/paralell). If your in 4th gear the rpm's needle will be slighly higher than the mph. If your in 6th gear the mph needle will be slightly higher than the rpm's.
    Try it out it works.

HealTech has indicators... I haven't used them however, sorry. Looks to be a good product though.
