    Hi everyone,

So I want to buy a gear indicator for my VFR800 (2003) I have had good luck with Healtech in the past so I want to go with them again.

I noticed they have 2 gear indicators though... one says from 98-05??? and the other says from 06-13?

I know honda did a few minor changes in 06, but is it really that much different from the 02-05? I want my gear indicator to be completely plug and play if possible, I hate cutting into wires.

The 06-13 one says it's completely plug and play where as the 98-05 says it requires some splicing. I feel like maybe they made a mistake and mean 98-01 and 02-13 but I cannot be sure. Does anyone have any experience with this?

    Thanks a million.

    Here's the links.

    06-13 $160- https://www.amazon.com/VFR800-Inter...8233491&sr=8-2&keywords=vfr800+gear+indicator

    98-05 $120- https://www.amazon.com/VFR800-Inter...8233491&sr=8-1&keywords=vfr800+gear+indicator

Well, crap. I think I finally figured it out.. apparently honda added a OBD port with the 06+ models, this port is what the healtech uses to plug directly into...

    Oh well, time to splice

Not at all... Obd schematics should implement multiplexed lines to reduce wiring on the bike. But i've not seen the schematics to compare. 100usd for that seems too high... Did you consider china?
