    Greetings!

I'm new to these forums, but I used to visit VFR World a lot when Karl was running it. I post on the "big list" and a local VFR list too.

My thermostat was stuck open so I decided to replace it and do the 16k service and valve lash inspection all at the same time (a little late at 20k miles). HOLY SHEET that t-stat is a buried treasure. It's a good thing these bikes are so reliable because they're not easy to work on.

Now I'm gonna shop arount for tune up parts, $45.00 fo an air filter and $6.70 per sparkplug at the dealer is too pricey for this do-it-yourselfer.

Oh, and I guess I'll have to look for a cool avatar too!

Welcome to the group. Thank you for joining us here. K&N makes a top notch air filter. There are a few other brands out there as well that are similar. I agree the price of plugs is high. I think Nippon Denso plugs are a little less expensive, but not sure of overall opinions of those here in the forum. Either way, it's personal preference and past experience as to what you choose.

As for the the t-stat? yeah it is buried in there isn't it. They don't make it easy to get to.
