    Hi all

As you may have experienced, getting carb replacement seals for the 90-93 model is insanely hard, nowhere seems to sell them and when you get them from Honda, they're stupidly expensive.

I've been in touch with a manufacturer who creates pattern parts out of a more resilient rubber than the NBR rubber used by Honda. The prices are better as well (around £40 for the WHOLE kit to do all four carbs)

I queried the materials and the moulding method, his response is below.

Can you show interest in a possible purchase with a simple 'yes' response below (absolutely no commitment is intended with this thread as I just want to gauge interest and actually get this going!)

Here's his response, quoted directly from Email correspondence. I'[ve also attached a picture of a mould example:

"Viton A (70 durometer) for most carb seals, some parts we use 75.
    Body parts are usually EPDM
Each and everyone of our parts lists what it is made from on the web page.
We use new genuine parts as patterns to make the moulds. Sometimes we also need the female part (float bowl for example).
To make the mid-body seals for the Keihin FCR we had to cut up a very expensive carb.
This was done in collaboration with Harper's Ultrasonic in the UK

The original part is 3D scanned and then the moulds are CNC Milled.
Attached is an image of one of our float bowl seals. The black one is a new Yamaha part.
You can see the very fine ridge on the Yamaha part and the same ridge on our part."

As the owner of a 93 VFR, YES i would be interested. Hopefully I won't need new seals for a while though.

Ok cool, good news is I've mustered up enough interest to get the ball rolling anyway, give it three months and they'll be ready for purchase!

    Here it is guys

    http://litetek.co/Carb_Kit_Honda_VFR750_RC36.html

As a disclaimer, I'm in no way associated with this guy or his site. I won't be making any money from this, I'm just responsible for egging him on to create the kits. 2200THB works out to be about £40 roughly, this is for an entire kit to repair the WHOLE carb set up with every seal. Bargain if you ask me, made from superior to standard materials as well.

Pleasant chap to deal with. so have at it.
