I had stomp grip on my old bike-stop grip -but it was hard on my pants-I wonder is there something better for the gas tank? I cut down the seat 1inch -now I am right against the tank?:ninja:

In my somewhat limited experience (only 4 years) of trying out tank protectors and bra's, I have been completely blown away by my TechSpec pads:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/TechSpec-Gr...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7f0c5f4d&vxp=mtr

I originally bought the matching soft tank protector, but it was too soft and it ripped the first week I was riding the Dragon at Deals Gap. I emailed them to buy another tougher version and they send it to me free and apologized. So not only is their product kickass, but so is there service.

Some 6th gen members have had good success with ST1300 tank pads. I think they look good.

I checked out those ST pads once, don't recall where they were sold, and they were pricey. Over $100 if I remember. My father has an ST and the pads are nice though.

I am running a set of Hong Kong specials I bought on Fleabay for a CBR for less than $15 shipped. They looked meh but they perform well and have not destroyed my over-pants at all. I ordered a second set because I figured they wouldn't last a season. I have been wrong, and they are still running strong.

Search "Tank Traction Pad Side Gas Knee Grip Protector For HONDA 2010 2011 2012 CBR 250R
    " on Ebay.
I think next time I will trim off part of the skinny, pointy bits.

You can see them in my signature pic.

    Duccman,

Those are from a post by VFRW member "ictghost"......however, if I am not mistaken, member "Rollin_Again" might have done the same thing prior to selling his 6th gen. I would try PMing one or both.

Cutting your own tank pad shapes

Techspec Gripster pads, cut-your-own-shape kit. The knee scoops on the 4th-gen tank have compound curves which flat shapes don't follow well, so I cut two-piece pads which don't buckle or lift.

I still have both my bikes (1993 and 2007) and I have the ST1300 pad mounted on both. Best tank pad period. I think I paid around $60 each several years ago but can't remember where I bought them from.

Honda makes/made an OEM rubber tank pad for the Gen 6. I had one on my 2009. Cost about $80, IIRC.

Looking at the ST1300 pad, I think it might actually be the exact same one.
