Does anybody have this GPS? I think it looks cool, however I am too much of a tightwad to dump half the cost of an XR250 to buy it. $900-1000 bucks, YIKES! However, motorcyclist mag did like it.

Please do tell if you have this fancy electronic device, and how well it works, AND how well you like it.

Oh don't leave us hanging like that!

And for what it's worth, the Zumo is the worth every penny. Got me to New York and back with only one navigational glitch...

The Zumo didn't know this TN backroad turned to dirt:

Anyways, there's nothing better that I could find. Left hand controls, weather/water resistant, etc...

I have a Garmin GPS III, and am thinking of upgrading to the Zumo. It's a little pricey though.

Maybe it knew, but just didn't want to tell you??

The StreetPilot III, my previous unit, has some features that I miss on the Zummo, but the Zummo is pretty nice, and very simple.

I absolutley love my Zumo 550.
    Worth every penny(s)
I'm not fussy about the supplied handlebar mount however, and may be upgrading soon.
Is anyone aware of an aftermarket brand that mounts to the tank fill bolts?

I see a few on E-Bay "New in Box" (or so they say) for about $499-$599. Is this a good deal or refurbished?

The Zumo mount uses the RAM attachments. You just need to know the ball size on it and order the components you need.

These are the guys I use for RAM components. http://www.custommounts.com/

    RAM Mount

Fits the 6th gen front tank mount point with longer screws... discard the U-bolt it comes with shown here.

So you zumo 550 lovers... what kind of headset are you using?
do you have a mic as well?

I'm trying to put the picture book together for Mrs. Claus so I don't get the wrong stuff from Santa. Sometimes the elves do better if I'm really specific.

I have no personal experience with the Zumo, I use a Garmin 2820, however a close friend just returned from a trip to Alaska and she said that she met three people in Alaska who had Zumos that had just plain died up there. Second hand information, I realize that, and I'm just passing it along for what it's worth. Garmin makes great boxes and I love my 2820, but maybe the Zumo is still having some teething pains. It could also be that these were some of the first ones. Who knows?

I love my Zumo, almost as cool as the bike. I use it on the bike and in the car with the car kit. I installed it with a diamond base mount from CycleGagets.com. They were very helpful. The holes of the diamond base must be redrilled to a new center line as the tank holes and the base holes are a little different. A 1/8" drill and about 4.893 minutes and you are there. It makes a great place to mount it. I have not connected the Bluetooth or the satelite radio. That will have to come once I figure out how the get sound into the helmet and throught the earplugs. Maybe custom hearing devices are the answer. Those are baout $300 more. I will wait a while longer.

A word in comment about Garmin. I had an Etrex on the SV650. It was old but worked great. One day I dropped and instantly kicked it across the garage floor. It did not survive. I sent it to Garmin along with the whole, true story. They replaced it with a new one, NO CHARGE. I am a Garmin man from now on.

    Hope these pics help!
