Thank you Galfer, this is an upgrade I've been considering, but it seems there have been some issues.

Oh my friend you do not know the half of it and my ordeal with Galfer. First off in my kit for my 98' VFR the "E" line and "G" line for my kit were too short and when I called Galfer I requested the correct lines and they demanded that I measure the ones that were sent to me and then asked me to decide how much longer they should be!! After 8 days of waiting I finally got the correct ones sent to me and I would NEVER NEVER NEVER recommend the Galfer kit. If it was winter I would have sent them back but I already had the rear lines installed from last season so I am stuck with them.

WOW, glad I clicked on this link. I just sent them an email about a kit for my 2002. Since there in Oxnard I was just going to ride up and purchase them. Were they pricks about it ?

First off I was a little upset.....
Second I asked Robert Davila at Galfer to overnight the parts asap and they did not do it, they sent it USPS and it took about 5 days on top of the other days we wasted
Third the instructions were lacking, esp for the left side caliper connections, there's a lot going on and I had to call a friend who has the same bike to make sure the double banjo bolt was going in the right spot. I think becaus of the double banjo bolt set up it will make getting the front wheel off a bigger pain in the ass than it is already. I just bleed the system last night and I hope to do a test ride tomorrow afternoon. Just some advice.....you might or will have to remove your bleeder screws one at a time to let gravity fill the empty hoses, my buddy gently pulled the lever and foot brake until a little fluid came out. It starts looking like the foam sealant you use when you fill cracks around a door/window but after the 15th pump we were golden. If I can help further then please ask.

its not hard, you need to remove the front cowl, rear wheel and the two bolts to the rear of the tank to get to that PCV bleeder screw. Its the bleeding that's somewhat of a pain but thanks goodness for for friends! He came by last night and we knocked it out. I wonder if the Goodridge, Heil and Speigler brake line systems kits are similar to the Galfer? I would love to know.

I've got the Galfer kit down in the garage, but haven't nerved myself up for the PIA bleeding I know will result from replacing all lines. I got the complete kit including clutch line for a little over $200 a couple of years ago. Seemed like a pretty good deal at the time.

With retirement coming up in two weeks I should have plenty of time for things I've been putting off. :cheersaf:

well, I've had the kit installed for about 4 years now I guess. I didn't realize it was that long ago. I like the brake lines, but I hate that the ends are so hard to keep from rusting. It seems like they could have used a better material. Those little nooks and crannies are a PIA to get to with steel wool.

What! what! what!!! can you send me a picture of that rust you speak of. I thought the banjo bolts were stainless steel? Hey Reg were you the guy who donated his bike to Galfer to make the set that they sell?
