Fuel Pump

    My fuel pump is hooped. Where do I get a new one?

    You first need to determine if the pump is getting voltage from the pump relay. You can bypass the relay with a jumper wire at the plug to test. Relays fail more often than the pumps themselves.

    The same (Mitsubishi) fuel pump was used on many Japanese bikes for years and years, so inexpensive replacements can be found at salvage yards fairly easily.

    You can try to clean the contact points under the black plastic cover (very carefully cuz they are delicate), and if your ohmmeter shows some continuity between the 2 wires at the plug, the pump may still be OK. Infinite resistance means the pump is not saveable.

    The pump is seized. I will get another pump to install in this bike. I almost had it fixed but the spring in the contacts shot out and landed somewhere in my driveway. Oh well another day
