Hello all, Forgive my ignorance but I'm new to motorcycle tuning. I purchased a bone stock '10 VFR1200 and I don't know whether or not I should get some sort of fueling programmer. I don't know what these things fix so I'm at a crossroads. The bike has some issues like a snatchy throttle, first gear surging at low rpms, and the like. Which programmer did y'all go with and did it fix these problems?
The 800 has similar issues and most people fix it by installing a Power Commander. Hopefully the 7th Gen owners can chime in here, but I think there is a Bazzaz module that most have gone with. You can do a search on that and probably find the threads you're looking for.
Juice box or pcV. depends on if you want autotune feature later or which is cheaper. They are both made by dynojet. One is just branded under Two Brothers. Maps are interchangable. Muffler, 1-2 derestrict and PC are needed to take care of the problem completely. Any one will make it better but not completely fix the snatchy throttle. Luckily, if someone is on the cheap and mechanically inclined and doesnt care about warranty they can do the muffler and 1-2 derestrict for free. This subject gets covered alot in 7th gen forum so a search will help on this. Also VFRD has a lot of info on this problem.
Gunuser - you might want to read this thread from one of our forum members who has racked up a lot of miles on the 2010 model (aka 7th Gen). Not only does it address snatchy throttle, but several other areas that can be improved, if you so choose. http://vfrworld.com/forums/7th-generation-2010-present/37405-1-year-later-review.html
