    Hi,

My 2000 VFR sat nearly empty for a week and today I fill it up and now fuel is constantly dripping from the fuel tank overflow tube. Did anyone ever experienced this or ever heard of such a problem before? I looked in the manual for a diagram of the tank to see if the tubing could be running from the top of the tank and inside to its underside but I could not find anything. I suspect that it does and that maybe there is a pin hole in the tube allowing fuel to escape through it. Any ideas?

check all connections and I mean every hose coming out of the Tank. Check and make sure breather hose is clean and clear.

Interestingly enough fuel still drips even with the engine cold and the fuel cap open.

On some Suzukis the tube will break off inside the tank and cause a leak just like you describe. I don't know how you could check it without taking the tank off.

I believe this is what happened here. I went for a ride until the fuel level went down enough to stop the leak and it worked. So somewhere in the upper area of the overflow drain located inside the fuel tank there is either a crack or hole. I will borrow a boroscope from work and see if I can locate the break.
