I just replaced both my rear and front tires on my 6th gen. I did the removal and install of the rims myself, the bike shop put on the tires. The question I have is that the manual states the wheel should "rotate freely" and the caliper and rotor should be aligned. The caliper and rotor look square to me but no matter how much I move my fork I hear a slight rubbing on the pads (enough that if i spin the tire it goes around a couple turns before stopping). Is this normal? Or should there be zero contact with the pads and spin completely freely? It seems like my rear wheel also sounds like it has a little scraping as well, even though I didn't mess with that caliper system at all.

Do i need to have my brakes serviced? (8000 miles on the clock)

When I roll the bike around or ride it up and down the street the brakes seem to be working correctly and applying the correct pressure. I tried some of the techniques mentioned in other posts about pumping the forks, the axle bolt, leveraging the fork etc, but still hear scraping.

You are 100% fine. I have never been able to get my wheels to spin more than 1 or 2 turns.

If rubbing noise seems greatest at one spot and the wheel usually stops there, you could have a warped rotor, but a slight scuffing noise is normal.
