Noticed that the chicken strips on my rear tire are a lot smaller than those on my front tire... Is this normal?

It's fairly common to for the rears to be somewhat smaller, ti depends a lot on the type of tire you use. I have Michilen Pilot Road 2CT's and my strips are about twice as wide on the front compared to the rear.

If your rear preload is set too low it could be squating on the rear tire. Bike will fight to turn into the turn a little if the rear is squating and it will not hold a line well. You shouldnt be able to ride the edge of your front tire unless your on a track hauling A55, but certain suspension settings can keep you from using more front tire.

Front is a PP, rear a PPCT2, 585 miles on the rear, 3300 on the front, rear has 1/4" (and peg feelers are both scraped) while front has at least 1/2".

I weigh 200 lbs and have the rear maxed out and front maxed -1 click. I have no cupping and the previous PP wore quite evenly. 50-50 canyons and freeway.

Should I have reason to believe there is a suspension issue here? I have a similar pattern on my CBR (except NO strip left on the rear at 2100 miles).

I have always thought there would/should be a front strip when street riding...

New set of Avon Storms, f/r sag both set at 38mm, and my rear is worn edge to edge while my front has at least 3/4" strip on each side. I think it's normal.
