Front forks bottoming out.

    Hi, just been out in the hail and sleet on the VFR and managed to bottom the forks out, its an 1986 model, forks feel nice and fluid but are obviously to soft for me, with all my gear on im about 18 stone, so can any suggest what the air pressure should be...

    They probably just feel like they are bottoming. What you are likely experiencing is hydraulic lock through the damping rods. This is a common problem for damping rod forks. The only way to fix that is with a set of emulators, or better yet a full cartridge conversion (a custom mod that I do on those kind of forks). Combine that with set of springs that are correct for your weight and I think you'd be amazed at the improvement.
